That's a wrAPP!

 On June 16th, 2025 the Monday APP building unit finished with presentations by 3 of the students. 

This APP building unit used the MIT APP inventor website for development. Using visual coding students created their own APPS.  The unit was 4 classes that just taight the basics, and gives the students the opportunity to further develop the apps they started.

This is a class that can be expanded to more advanced levels, even to actual APPs that you might use!

Brittany made a basic app thet opens an image, she was awarded a $10 amazon gift card    

Alexa's app was a balloon popping game, and received a $15 amazon gift card.

Quinn created an app for finding penpals, and received a $25 amazom gift card.

APP development is a unit that we could bring from basic all the way to an advanced level of coding, with the opportunity to make commercial apps or to enter them in prestigious competitions.  We hope to grow this as a program that teaches a lot about the integration of technology and everyday life.

Welcome to S.T.E.A.M. City! The Start!

 S.T.E.A.M. City Corporation was created as a non-profit organization with the goal of making  S.T.E.A.M. education topics accessible to everyone regarless of their ability to pay.  As the world gets more and more tech oriented, the need for education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics becomes more important.  For people in low opportunity circumstances this can be difficult.  First generations, parents with low education achievement, low income and access to education are all present in the communities we want to serve. The potential to get higher education and begin a life changing career is a reality on this education track. The need for  S.T.E.A.M. educated workers really grows every day. It is our hope that fun, creative S.T.E.A.M. classes we offer will create opportunities that our students had never imagined.  S.T.E.A.M.
